The LHP Whisky Game:
Where drink and drive is perfectly fine
At the LHP Whisky Game, it is perfectly fine to drink and drive. Indeed, what is more pleasurable than to warm up over a glass of whisky and get ready to drive the ball to a hole-in-one?
March 14 marked the first edition of the 2024 Whisky Games, a much-anticipated game for whisky aficionados. Unlike our last game in October 2023, this year’s edition opened on a much more intimate scale with a total of 40 participants.
When registration opened at 11am, members and guest participants were delighted to receive an exclusive door gift comprising a bottle of 15-year-old Glenfiddich whisky and a beautifully crafted whisky hipflask. A pre-game reception of whisky and a light meal was prepared to fuel the golfers up before the game. The first flight of golfers teed off at 12.05pm under the blazing sun.
By sunset, as the throngs of spirited golfers headed back to the Clubhouse, they were greeted by light music, more whiskies and a sumptuous buffet spread. The Berlayer Room came alive with loads of merrymaking, laughter and chatter.
The highlight of the evening was the jamming session led by Tony Kwek and fellow seasoned musicians who were regular faces at our jamming sessions. It didn’t take long for the participants to warm up, and the mood elevated after Tony’s first number. Participants were invited to jam, and many hidden talents were uncovered during the night.
As the merrymaking progressed late into the night, soon, it was time to say goodbye to an “intoxicating” time of singing and drinking. The Whisky Game was a roaring success, thanks to the very sporting participants. While the event may have ended, there will always the next one. Without a doubt, everybody will be waiting eagerly for it, we will keep you posted 😊.
