Rubbing shoulders with the God of Wealth in the Fa Cai Game 2025
This year’s Fa Cai Game was held on Feb 12, 2025. Just like our previous editions, the response was overwhelming, with a total of 144 golfers comprising members and public golfers. Festivity was in the air, and greetings of “Happy New Year” were exchanged among friends and acquaintances, many of whom came dressed in auspicious shades of orange and red.
Lunch was served as early as 10.30am, and at around 11.15am, the highlight of the day brought the celebratory mood to a rousing high. At the deafening beatings of drums and cymbals, participants gathered to the lobby for the much-anticipated “Cai Qing” performance by the award-winning Yiwei Athletic Association.

The stars of the day were the dancing lions, which charmed the audience with their agile moves and stunning freestyle high-pole performance. Club Chairman Tan Chong Meng and Club President Lai Mun Onn, who were the guests-of-honour, were presented auspicious scrolls. Sharing the limelight of the day was the crowd-favourite, God of Wealth, who showered guests and members with candies and wishes for abundance. Many rushed to take “selfies” with him, with the hope of having good luck rubbed off on them.
After all the fanfare, it was time to kick off the Fa Cai Game. Golfers headed to the buggy station for the big flag-off. Thanks to the great weather, and our participants were able to complete their game without a hitch.
By 6.30pm, all golfers have returned to the clubhouse and freshened up. A sumptuous feast awaited them at Berlayer Room. The evening unfolded with an opening speech by Chairman Tan, followed by the must-have “Lo Hei”, lucky draw and prize presentation for the novelty game winner and top three golfers.
What a fun and memorable day it has been for our participants. We wish everyone an auspicious and happy year ahead.
