Keppel Club sets milestone in CGF2025
The Community Golf Festival 2025, jointly organised by Keppel Club and the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) in celebration of SG60, concluded last Saturday, Aug 2, 2025 with resounding success. The three-day Festival attracted more than 600 participants.
This year’s Festival showcased how golf could be reimagined — not only as a sport, but as a platform for inclusion, creativity, and community bonding. On Day One, golf clinics were specially curated by SGA’s national athletes and coaches for persons with disabilities, individuals with special needs, the underprivileged, and their caregivers – giving them a chance to try golf. On Day Two, golfers got to play Sime course with a splash of creativity in a “Jurassic Park”-themed Fun Game, transforming the golf course into a playful adventure. Many golfers expressed surprise as they entered the “office” and “lab” of Jurassic Park’s Dr Alan Grant and received a slight shock after the photo-taking on the jeep when the dinosaur made a sudden appearance. The effects exceeded their expectations.

On Day Three, the Festival concluded with the Pesta Sukan Golf Tournament, a key event under Sport Singapore’s GetActive! Singapore campaign to celebrate National Day through sports. This is the first time golf has been featured in Pesta Sukan since Singapore’s independence. Minister for Social and Family Development, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, graced the occasion as Guest-of-Honour and represented his Tampines Group Representation Constituencies (GRC) in the team event.
About 250 golfers participated in the Pesta Sukan Golf 2025, which saw spirited contests across men’s and women’s categories, as well as teams from 11 GRCs and four Single Member Constituencies (SMCs) which competed in the inter-constituency tournament. Radin Mas SMC emerged as the inaugural team champion, posting a winning score of 167, with standout rounds of 79 and 88 by Mr Hoo Min Chit and Mr Ang Poh Yeow, Sam.
