Tee off and unwind: Members enjoy Bintan Golf Getaway

Keppel Club members recently took their golf experience beyond local fairways, enjoying a seamless island escape to Bintan Lagoon International Golf Resort as part of an exclusive Club-arranged promotion.

Mr David Aw, together with three friends, made the short trip from Singapore on Feb 9, 2026, taking advantage of the specially curated weekday package offered to Keppel Club and Friends of Sime members.

“We heard of this offer through Keppel Club. Personally, I have not been to Bintan for about 10 years although I am quite a regular at Batam golf courses,” David shared.

The group played two rounds across the resort’s two championship courses, the Jack Nicklaus Course and the Ian Baker-Finch Course. The Jack Nicklaus Course, which has undergone a full renovation, was in excellent condition, with well-maintained fairways that rewarded thoughtful play.

While parts of the Ian Baker-Finch Course are still being progressively completed, the group remained upbeat about the overall experience. “Only one of the nine holes had been completed, and the greens were still a bit on the slow side. I am sure that, with time, it will mature nicely,” David added.

Beyond the golf, it was the thoughtfully put-together experience that stood out. From return ferry transfers and smooth land arrangements to comfortable accommodation and meals, the package allowed members to enjoy a fuss-free getaway from start to finish.

“The caddies were friendly and knowledgeable, and the buggies were quite new,” David noted, highlighting the quality touches that elevated the trip.

The group stayed at Holiday Inn Resort Bintan, a newly-opened property that offered a modern and comfortable retreat after a day on the course. Combined with meals at the clubhouse and refreshments provided during the game, the experience struck a balance between play and relaxation.

Behind the scenes, careful coordination ensured everything ran smoothly. The trip was arranged with members’ convenience in mind, allowing participants to simply turn up and enjoy the experience without the usual planning involved in overseas golf trips.
