A forward look at Keppel Club’s next chapter
Keppel Club held its Annual General Meeting on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Aloft Hotel Zhongshan, with 236 members in attendance.
During the session, members raised a range of questions covering course operations such as pin placements and turf agronomy, as well as broader club matters. The Management Committee responded in detail, underscoring its continued commitment to transparency and active engagement with members.
Looking ahead, the Management highlighted that the next two years will be critical in shaping the Club’s direction, with a clear priority to further energise and refresh the member experience.
The Club’s General Manager, Mr Desmond Chua, also noted that the period leading up to the end of the lease in 2030 should not be viewed as a countdown, but as an opportunity for Keppel Club at Sime to demonstrate its continued relevance and purpose. The Club, he added, is not standing still, but actively building forward.
President Lai Mun Onn similarly reiterated that Keppel Club’s mission extends beyond its membership, including its responsibility to the wider public, and the importance of remaining relevant in the eyes of stakeholders, including the Government.
Updates were also shared on ongoing efforts to enhance the member experience and strengthen revenue streams, alongside a continued emphasis on financial prudence and discipline.
The new Management Committee for the 2026/2027 term was confirmed during the meeting, with Mr Jamil Maksoem elected as Vice-Captain, Mr John Lie as the newly-elected Tennis Convenor, and Mr Mark Ng continuing in his role as Billiards & Bowling Convenor. Here is the full Management Committee:
