An evening of exceptional whisky with The Deacon

On June 5, 2026, Keppel Club welcomed 30 participants to The Deacon Whisky Masterclass, a delightful tasting experience that introduced members and guests to the distinctive character of a premium blended Scotch whisky from Scotland.
Owned by Sovereign Brands, it has gained popularity internationally, particularly in Japan, where it is a favourite choice for whisky highballs. During the session, guests enjoyed a guided tasting experience and discovered its distinctive flavour profile featuring notes of wood smoke, earthy peat, charred orange, toffee, and malty biscuits, making it an approachable Scotch for both beginners and seasoned whisky enthusiasts alike.
The experience was complemented by a selection of delectable bites, including Mantou with Chilli Crab Sauce and Samosas. Guests also enjoyed refreshing Deacon Highballs mixed with sparkling water.
The masterclass provided an opportunity for members and guests to deepen their appreciation for Scotch whisky, exchange tasting impressions, and enjoy an evening of great company and conversation.
