Durian Festival
A satisfying Saturday for all
The unmistakable aroma of the King of Fruits filled the air at Thirsty Monkey – the former Beer Garden – on Saturday, July 19, 2025, as over 50 members and guests gathered for the Club’s much-anticipated “Durian Festival”.
Although the lorry carrying the prized durians arrived later than scheduled, spirits remained high, and the wait proved more than worthwhile. Attendees were rewarded with two premium varieties – “Mao Shan Wang” and “XO” durians, both known for their rich, creamy textures and intense flavour.
To beat the afternoon heat, guests also enjoyed a refreshing free flow of ice kacang and chendol, adding a nostalgic local touch to the tropical indulgence. The combination of sweet treats, good company, and mouthwatering durians made for a memorable event.
