Keppel Club tennis bested at Singapore Tennis Association’s Inter-club quarterfinals
Between Oct 28, 2023, and Dec 3, 2023, several clubs across Singapore participated in the annual Singapore Tennis Association Inter-Club Doubles Knockout Tournament.
Comprising a series of playoffs held over one month, the tournament saw many matches postponed or rescheduled due to inclement weather. The finals, blessed by favourable skies, finally took place on Dec 3, 2023.
Held at the Yio Chu Kang Tennis Centre, participating clubs competed to bring home the Men’s C Division Chan Cup, Men’s B Division Chua Cup, Men’s A Division Kliny Cup, and Ladies’ Martha Young Cup.
Keppel Club was represented in the Chan Cup by Mr Kamal Ehsan, Mr Chen Chee Sing, Mr Fredrik Chen, Mr Jonas Chen, Mr Dylan Lim, Mr Ryan Quek, Mr Sean Ang, Mr Andrew Shih, Mr Joel Chiang, Mr Joel Owen, Mr Ryan Goh, Mr Atsuhi Yoshimura, Mr Caden Kong, Mr Evan Kong and Mr Mark Choo.
Team Keppel Club fought hard to clinch a spot in the quarter-finals. The players’ fighting spirit, however, could not carry them to the podium, as the team was bested 2-1 by their more seasoned peers from the Filipino Tennis Club. Keppel Club would like to thank the team for a gallant performance throughout the tournament.
While this year’s edition draws to a close, Keppel Club’s tennis aspirants continue to train hard. We are confident that the team will perform even better next year!
