Our first Staff vs Members Game at Sime

It has been a few years since our members last teed off alongside our friendly staff. After two years of settling into our new home at Sime, it was finally time to resume our annual Staff vs Member Games.
On Monday, May 27, 2024, a rare opportunity arose for members to meet and play with the staff who tirelessly work behind the scenes to bring the magic of Sime to life. An air of friendly rivalry buzzed in the early afternoon air, perfectly complemented by the inviting scent of freshly made roti prata with curries wafting on the light breeze. Sunny skies with light clouds provided the ideal backdrop for this long-awaited event. As we took our positions on the tee, smiles were all around.
The early afternoon flew by, and despite the competitive spirit, it was filled with good-natured jibes and words of encouragement between tee shots. The overall sentiment, perfectly captured by Tamilvanan Rajesh, a staff of Keppel Club for 10 years: “Happy that we are having this member vs staff function again after COVID-19 made it impossible over the last few years”. The heat picked up as the day progressed, but as the participants finished their games and refreshed themselves before dinner, the focus shifted from scores to the camaraderie and shared love for golf.
The collective heartfelt gratitude of the participants to the host team was encapsulated in Captain Anthony’s words: “Well done to Vigknes and his team, they are the real stars of the day. With the tremendous success of this event, we are even considering to hold this event bi-annually.” Merrymaking reigned supreme as we had our fill of dinner and the evening wound down, the atmosphere could be summed up as follows: The weather, warm. The food, amazing. The mood, priceless.
