A magnificent golfing experience in the Land of the Rising Sun
On the evening of June 12, 2024, 11 Keppel Club members and a participant from our Friend of Sime programme, along with eight other golf enthusiasts boarded SQ 656 for an exhilarating golf adventure to Kyushu, Japan.
Throughout the trip, the group was immersed in a unique blend of scenic beauty and challenging golf courses of Kyushu. Amidst the region’s lush landscapes of volcanic mountains, hot springs and coastal vista, the golfers were set for the time of their life.
Playing against the stunning and breathtaking backdrops of the island’s premier golf courses, the group’s golfing experience was elevated to another level. The golfers were thrilled by the new and refreshing experiences as they hit the greens of the Oita Sanihiru Golf Club, Kumamoto Kuko Country Club, Atsumaru Aso Sekisui Golf Club and Fukuoka Kokusai Country Club.
Fours days of golf zipped by quickly, and it was time to sightsee and shop! First up was TOSU Premium Outlet, the shopping Mecca of Kyushu for international luxury brands. There was also the Tenjin Shopping Street which is well-known for its diverse shopping options from high-end luxury brands to affordable fashion brands. The itineraries for sightseeing included the Motomachi Seaside Park and Fukuoka Castle ruin within the Maizuru Park. Here, the travellers were able to experience the historical grandeur of the Edo period and enjoy the beauty of the Maizuru Park.
The day before their return to Singapore was a free and easy day. The group could explore the neighbourhood or simply spend the day leisurely to enjoy the hotel’s facilities.
Soon, it was time to fly home, but for the group of 20, it had been a magnificent trip. Many unforgettable memories were made and new friendships forged. Sayonara, till the next trip.
