Hari Raya Game 2025:
A joyful day of golf, food and festivity
On April 5, 2025, the Hari Raya golf game teed off in festive spirit as around 100 golfers gathered for a quick lunch before heading out to the course for a 1pm shotgun start. Played in the format of System 36 individual Stableford, the competition unfolded under brilliant sunshine and clear skies. The weather was scorching, especially during the first two hours, adding an extra layer of challenge to the game – but spirits remained high throughout the afternoon.
In the evening, the golfers gathered at the Berlayer Room for dinner. Spirits were high and appetites were whetted by the buffet, from the rich, tender beef rendang, to the fragrant sayur lodeh (vegetables stewed in coconut milk). The gado-gado (Indonesian salad with peanut sauce) and an assortment of traditional Malay kuih (bite-sized desserts) brought vibrant colour and flavour to the table and added a sweet note to the evening.

Before dinner commenced, Tennis Convenor Kamal Ehsan took a moment to share the significance of Hari Raya Puasa. Also known as Eid al-Fitr, Hari Raya Puasa marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. It is a time for gratitude, forgiveness, and the renewal of bonds with family and friends.
The night’s emcee was Mr Loh Teck Heng. Known for his quick wit, Teck Heng kept everyone entertained with his humour and playful banter.
The evening concluded with prize presentations for the top three winners, as well as the Novelty game and lucky draw prizes. Cheers and applause filled the room as winners stepped up to collect their prizes — a fitting end to a night of fun, fellowship, and festive cheer.
