An evening of fine whisky and dining

On May 15, 2025, members and guests gathered for an exclusive Whisky Pairing Night featuring premium Japanese spirits from Kujira and Masahiro. Held in an intimate setting, the event brought together connoisseurs and curious palates to savour these fine whiskies paired with a sumptuous five-course menu.

Guests embarked on a culinary journey where every dish was matched with a distinctive gin or whisky. We were honoured to welcome Mr Higa Masayasu, Master Distiller and fifth-generation owner of Okinawa’s oldest distillery, who personally introduced and shared insights into the craftsmanship, flavour profiles and stories behind the bottles. Masahiro Distillery is celebrating its 142nd anniversary this year.

Adding to the excitement, lucky draws were held with all prizes — bottles of whisky — personally signed by Mr Higa — a prized keepsake for the lucky winners.

The highlight of the night was the announcement of the limited-edition 18-year old Kujira Whisky Single Cask, bottled exclusively to mark Keppel Club’s 121st anniversary. Guests had the opportunity to pre-order these serially numbered bottles from one to 121 — a rare collector’s item that honours the Club’s milestone.

The evening brought together great company, fine flavours and a shared appreciation for the art of whisky-making, making it a memorable experience for all.
