A Swing to Remember: Hon Cheng’s hole-in-one at Sime Course
Mr Chin Hon Cheng, a long-time Keppel Club member, scored a hole-in-one on April 22, 2025. He achieved the feat on hole 3 of the Club’s Sime Course.
Playing alongside his flight mates Mr Ronald Lim, Mr Lim Say Wah and Mr Oo Soon Hee, Hon Cheng delivered the perfect shot that had his flight mates cheering.
Recounting that memorable morning, Hon Cheng said he approached hole 3 with usual calm. Armed with his 7-iron and a new ball, he practised a few swings and visualised his shot before letting the ball fly. The ball soared high, landed before the pin and rolled forward up the slope before rolling back.
As they approached the green, it became apparent that the ball was in the hole! Cheers erupted and Hon Cheng jumped for joy. “It’s my first hole-in-one!”
A retired IT professional who has been a member since 1993, Hon Cheng stopped playing golf after being away for several years due to an overseas posting in China. He started to play actively again in early 2024, thanks to a member friend, Mr Arthur Lim, who introduced him into a Keppel Club members’ social chat group. Since then, Hon Cheng has rediscovered the joy of playing golf and found great camaraderie.
To commemorate this hole-in-one achievement, Hon Cheng will host a celebratory dinner with his flight mates and friends from the social chat group.
Congratulations to Hon Cheng on this milestone!
