Best wishes to Shannon Tan for her Olympic dream
May 16, 2024 was a very special day for us as we welcomed our former Junior Elite Squad member, Shannon Tan, home to Keppel Club.

The talented Shannon, now 20, has turned pro at the start of this year and has been named the new EFG Singapore Sports Ambassador. Keppel Club was honoured to host the signing ceremony of her multi-year partnership with EFG International.
It was here at Keppel Club that Shannon had her first taste of golf. She was later selected to join the Junior Elite Squad. In her childhood days, Keppel Club was Shannon’s second home. She spent many weekends training at our Bukit Chermin premises, and was often seen doing her homework and having her meals at the Club.

As an amateur golfer, Shannon became the first Singaporean to qualify for the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship in 2022. She also finished runner-up in the 2022 Queen Sirikit Cup and was the low amateur on the 2022 Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open on the KLPGA.
Shannon made history in February 2024 when she became the first Singaporean to win the European Ladies European Tour, claiming victory in the Magical Kenya Ladies Open – her debut competition as a professional.
Of her partnership with EFG International, Shannon shared that “it is an honour to represent EFG as its Singapore Sports Ambassador. EFG is renowned for its efforts to foster the next generation of golfing talent in Singapore and the wider region by empowering gifted young players, creating genuine sporting role models and promoting the growth of the game at grassroots level”. She added: “Encouraging golf among young people has always been important to me, and I hope this partnership can inspire the next generation to get involved and develop a passion for the sport.”

Shannon will be heading off to France for the Jabra Ladies Open 2024, and it is her dream to represent Singapore at the Olympics. We wish her success in her pursuit of her Olympic dream.
