Golf and fun at Sime – Keppel Club celebrates National Day
Keppel Club organised our first-ever member-public National Day Celebration Game 2024 on Aug 9, 2024. It was not just Singaporean golfers but golfers from many different nations who came to celebrate Singapore’s National Day.
The games were played on timesheet divided into morning and afternoon sessions. More than 100 golfers turned up in each session. It was a day of golf and fun at Sime. Many came dressed in our national colours of red and white, and some even decorated their buggies to compete for the “Best Dressed Golfer” and “Best Decorated Buggy” titles.

The weather was excellent as the sun was mild in the morning, with passing shower at about 1.30pm. The afternoon games were briefly disrupted for half an hour due to rain towards the evening at 5pm.
Golfers were delighted to be served with finger food at the Beer Garden during their crossover, with some discreetly returning for a second helping of satay and ngoh hiang.
In between the two sessions, a buffet lunch was served at Tee Top Restaurant’s Berlayer Room. “The food was great”, commented Mr Loh Chua Meng who had been away from Singapore for four years. “It was really nice to be back in Singapore, and to celebrate National Day with fellow Keppel Club members over golf and having fun at Sime.”
The “Best Dressed Golfers” were Ms Anna Chen and Ms Lisa Loo, while Ms Lorene Ann Nalpon and Ms Amanda Ng Ling Yu had the “Best Decorated Buggy”. The “Best Patriotic Video” posted on social media title was awarded to Mr Jayanth Nagarajan and Ms Chia Poh Ling.
