Mastering the knockdown shot
A knockdown shot is a controlled, lower-flying shot that is great in windy conditions or when you want extra accuracy. To hit a knockdown shot, here are the steps you need to take:
Ball position and stance – Slightly back in your stance.
Ball position and stance – Slightly back in your stance.
Swing shorter — Three-quarter swing with a smooth tempo. Finish low by holding the follow-through down to keep the flight down.
When do you use a knockdown shot?
- Playing into the wind
- Hitting a punch under tree branches
- Needing extra control with your distance
Keep these points in mind –- the knockdown shot is a true “pro’s shot” for tough conditions.
