Keppel Club Chairman appointed member of Council of Presidential Advisers
Keppel Club Chairman Tan Chong Meng has been appointed a member of the Council of Presidential Advisers (CPA). The Club extends its heartiest congratulations to Mr Tan.
Mr Tan, who is Chairman of JTC Corporation, Deputy Chairman of the National University Health System, and a board director of Temasek, was appointed to the CPA on the advice of the Prime Minister.
He was sworn in, together with Mr Peter Seah Lim Huat, by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on June 3. Both of them were appointed for a six-year term, which will end on June 1, 2030. Mr Seah, Chairman of DBS Group Holdings and its Executive Committee, was reappointed to continue serving his term, which began in January 2021.
Also sworn in on June 3 as an alternate member of the CPA for a four-year term was Mr Gan Seow Kee, Vice-Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation.
The CPA, comprising eight members and two alternate members, advises the President on the use of his discretionary and custodial powers.
